The Hotel Europa is located in the historical centre of Rapallo, opposite the Castle, and a few steps from the sea and the promenade. Previously it was the Residence of the Marquess Serra - in 1600 - before that, of the Durazzo Family, later a 4 star hotel which still remains true to its past. In fact, outside the Hotel Europa, there are three stones plaques that respecively remember the sejourns of: Pope Pio VII in 1815 he was returning to Rome after the Congress of Vienna that had reconstituted the Papal state. Vittorio Emanuele I, King of Sardinia, in the first days of April in 1821 while he was on his way to Modena to his brother-in-low, the Duke of the city. |
An Giuseppe Mazzini, when in 1870 he took refuge here from persecution by the Savoia. (The plaque was especially dear to the anti-clerical Rapallians). The "Trattato" restaurant, the "Hemingway" bar and during the summer months the Garden bar are also open to non-residents. |
Nestled within the romantic scenic environs of a seaside village, and a short distance away from the Riviera's most exclusive high society spots, Hotel Europa is the ideal location for banquets, work breakfasts and relaxing breaks. The Hotel also offers a fitness centre, garage and a conference hall "I Carbonari". All the facilities are easily accessible to the disabled. Open all-year-round. |
