After a long journey from London by plane, bus, and ferry and a rip off trip by a cab driver, we were welcomed by the Europa staff and had help with our bags to the second floor room. Shortly after, we were treated to a lovely Italian meal with generous first and second courses and choice of desserts.

The room was as we expected. It was kept very clean and it appeared that the staff changed the sheets daily. We had a nice view of the castle from our window and one of the pool on our way down the steps. All of the staff, including the owners were very friendly and helpful as we found our way around the island. Wait staff were two young men who were quick with servics and offered plenty of smiles as we struggled with Italian. Just what is a 'big fish with sharp teeth'?

Our bill was ready in a timely manner and there was no charge for our internet use. It felt more like we were leaving friends of the family than some strngers we met 8 days ago. We had opportunity to make contact with some of the other residents and our limited conversation (English, Italian, French and German) were always fun and very antimated.

This is a family run hotel with closely knit family members running the operation. The room are plain but very clean and the food is always well prepared and generous in their servings. There are two choices at dinner, one is always vegetarian. We are two retired people on a fixed income and this is a place we could afford and still enjoy the island. We have been to Ischia before but this was better because we could walk to shopping areas and cafes or easily catch the bus.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Europa, the staff (family) were very friendly, and we found that the hotel had a lot of character, the food very good, if they had air conditioning units in the rooms it would be perfect.

We felt that this hotel was one of the most relaxing we had stayed at - due to the spa pool, the food and staff, and we would very much like to go back. Again, we feel people would pay a bit more to have air conditioning units in the rooms.

there were no directions on the e-mail that i received confirming our stay. when we got to ischia porto taxi men were trying to charge us 20 euro to bring us 2km, when according to the receptionist it should have been no more than 10 euro

Positive:
Nicely located between poro and ponte, closer to ponte. Nice staff and a warm family feel to the lobby area. 5 minutes walk to the beach. On our stay the room was quiet.
Negative:
It needs air-con instead of a ceiling fan, dinner menu was limited and the beds not very comfortable
