Set north of Milan on the most romantic lake in the world, Villa d'Este is surrounded by ten acres of private park. This ancient villa was built in 1568 as a summer residence of Cardinal Tolomei Gallio. |
It was the favourite dwelling of an Empress, an English Queen and minor aristocracy until 1873, when it became a luxury hotel. While the villa was completely renovated, its old world charm remained intact. A magnificent park surrounds Villa d'Este with flowers, terrace, fountains and gardens, overlooking the blue-green water of Lake Como. |
Over one hundred and twenty five years of tradition: this is what makes the legendary Villa d'Este so different from many others hotels. The luxury and the magnificence of bygone days has been left intact; we only added the modern comforts. Today, completely renovated, Villa d'Este offers the highest standards of hospitality and it is one of Europe's legendary resorts. |
