Everyone at the hotel was very gracious and helpful. ... I would recommend the hotal to anyone. It was a great experience. ... Just that the hotel is in the most preferred location of the city with a beautiful view. ... A place to go back to often-outstanding.

The staff went out of its way to help us get heavy baggage to our room. ... The Relais Ducale is a property made of several historic buildings that have been carefully modernized to preserve their historical character. The views of both the old town's winding lanes, and the surrounding Umbrian countryside were lovely and better than we expected. ... The hotel is a beautiful property, centrally located in the historic old town center of a small, charming Umbrian hill town. The staff was very polite and always helpful.

The directions on the website were clear on getting to Gubbio. However, the directions said nothing about finding the hotel once we got to town. I sent an email to the hotel ahead of time asking for directions in Gubbio, which they supplied. Even then, it was difficult to get to the main plaza without asking for help from the people of the town. Fortunately, the people in Gubbio were very friendly and we made it ok. ... We loved our room and the view from our balcony. ... We had to check out early, 6:30 AM to drive to Rome for our flight, The staff was very accomodating in getting us to our car that early in the morning. ... I think you should promote more the fantastic location, right in the heart of the main piazza. Also the free parking and shuttle service to our car should be mentioned. ... Great location, great staff, great view of the town!

We were greeted at our car most graciously. Check-in was easy. Bags were delivered to our room and the car was whisked away to the hotel's lot. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite. The experience could not have been better. ... We were upgraded to a Junior Suite! It was excellent. ... Elegance and comfort in the heart of a medieval city.

We had received no directions to the hotel, and gottotally 'lost.' It's hard to find. However, we eventually were directed by a local young man (who we found out had a family connection to the hotel). After that we had a wonderful experience at the hotel. They were VERY helpful in telling us about local events, and guiding us to local excursions. The receptionis even loaned us a book. I had a complaint about the airconditioning. They were right on top of it. Our stay there was extraordinary, except for not receiving directions as to how to get there. Katherine Wagner ... Great

First, the staff is excellent. This was our best hotel of the trip and Gubbio is a charming town. It was Difficult for US to find the hotel and park, but not different than other small towns of Italy. This was our first day of driving in Italy. Once we arrived the staff greeted us warmly by name and was helpful in finding a parking spot. The breakfast was wonderful, this best we had in Italy. ... Wonderful, one of the best of our trip.

More specific directions would have been helpful to find the road thru the wall up to the 'biggest building' in Gubbio. ... It is a WONDERFUL property. I brought several brochures back for my travel agent, who was not familiar with the property. The rooms were beautiful, and the gardens and patios were also. It was MUCH better than what I had expected, even though the website made it look good, I didn't believe the website????? Anyhow, it is a GEM!!!! ... The cost is dirt cheap for what you get!!! ... maybe the fact that check-in is on the 2nd floor (stairs)-----but there is a handicap stairwayrail available to use. (my friend has a bad case of asthma and needed to use it one time. ... It is a lovely, newly remodeled, elegant hotel sitting high atop the city of Gubbio with wonderful views of the countryside from the several flowering terraces and gardens.

We emailed hotel and when we arrived in Gubbio they sent a courtesy car to take us to the hotel and garaged our car. all in all an excellent service. ... We had a wonderful week at the Relais Ducale. The staff were always very helpful and cheerful. We would recommend the Hotel and Gubbio without hesitation. The food in the restaurant El Lupo was superb, and breakfast outide on the Piazza Grande was a real treat. ... Efficient and quick. Courtesy car took us and our luggage to collect our own car in garage. ... I think it should be emphasised that there are many steps to negotiate to get to and from the hotel, although there is an elevator which can be used for most of them and a stairlift and elevator within the hotel. ... A lovely hotel in a wonderful location with magnificent views over the Umbrian countryside.Gubbio is a beautifully preserved medieval town with lots of narrow cobbled alleyways and interesting piazzas and buildings.

The only thing I disliked was that the church bells right in front of the hotel rang every fifteen minutes all night long!

A detailed map on how to get to the hotel would have been helpful. ... We changed rooms because we heard the church bells loudly ring hourly during the night in our initial room. ... Wonderful hotel but getting to it by car should be explained clearly and one should be warned about the church bells. ... Lovely hotel with great views of the countryside from many rooms. Bells are a drawback during night but not heard loudly from all rooms. The staff were excellent.
