 The Castello di Pavone is 500 meters far from the Ivrea exit on the highway and easily reachable and visible from there. It is considered as one of the most beautiful monuments of the artistic heritage of Italy. The photographic images cannot portray its natural beauty and its fairy-tale and spectacular effects. This marvelous castle offers a great emotion to its visitors with its fascinating and poetical aspect. A century-old legend tells about this lucky castle and its positive influence on all those people who have the opportunity of spending some time in it. It has a fortunate story, rich of pleasant and positive episodes and poor in bloody events. |
 Its strong and fabulous exterior walls have been built between the IX and the XIV century; in the inner courtyard stands a beautiful Romanesque little Church, built in the 850, with its two Roman tombs which dates back to the 4th and 5th century b.C., built for the two ancestors. The castle boasts a suggestive interior courtyard paved with carved stones and a beautiful mystery well. The architecture which surrounds the courtyard is fascinating. It has been built as a fortress to protect the ways from the north-west side; it is surrounded by exceptional double boundary walls that protected the castle during the centuries. |
 It majestically overlooks the little village called Pavone, dominating it with its spectacular dimensions and fascinating those people which can observe it. This castle was owned and ruled by different important families, such as the houses of King Arduino, of the Bishop of Ivrea, Ottone, Savoia and its history is famous to be a lucky one. At the end of 1800 the castle has been skilfully restored by the famous Alfredo D'Andrade. In 1992 the works of restoration continued, thanks to the Giodice family, and the castle regained its antique magnificence. Nowadays it offers the best comforts and the most modern technologies to accommodate the most exigent customers with a delightful hospitality. |
