Casa Poli is located at only few minutes walk from the old town centre of Mantova. Mantova is very rich in history and therefore in artistic heritage. The most impressive building is definitely the "Palazzo Ducale" (1 km from Casa Poli), inside the stunning Piazza Sordello, which brings us to the very beginning Mantova's history. Another marvellous historic building is the St. Andrew Church (800 mt. from Casa Poli), extraordinary work, built according to the famous architect Leon Battista Alberti's project, who disrupted architecture's rules of his time.
Inside the church there are paintings of Giulio Romano and Andrea Mantegna. Again, St Lorence Church (800 mt from Casa Poli), wonderful example of mediaeval holy architecture; Palazzo della Ragione (800 mt from casa Poli), Casa del Mercante (800 mt from Casa Poli), Casa di Giulio Romano. Outside the old town centre there is the gorgeous Palazzo del Te, country seat of the Gonzaga family, lords of Mantova for 300 years(900 mt from Casa Poli). Palazzo Ducale, Palazzo Te, Casa del Mantegna and other historical buildings usually host exhibitions. The old town centre can be reached just on foot.
