By Plane:
The airport you will find more convenient to reach the castle is Sant Egidio in Perugia, which welcomes services from London, Milan and Tirana on a regular basis. The terminal is placed around 45 kms away from Tuoro sul Trasimeno.
By Car:
If you are driving from Sant Egidio, you must take road SP247-I and continue along Strada Ponte Valleceppi-Sant Egidio till road SS3BIS/ E45. Turn left into this track and head towards Perugia. Continue along road RA6 and take the exit for "TUORO". Around 400 metres ahead, you will come to a set of crossroads: instead of going into Tuoro sul Trasimeno, turn left as if you were going to Arezzo, along SS 75 bis road. Go on parallel to the lake and at kilometre 46 you will come across Ristoro Punta Bella. Take the track here, Via Puntabella, and continue straight for around 2.200 kms: on your right you will find a wrought iron gate, belonging to the Antico Casale. (40 minutes). Otherwise, from Rome you must drive around 2 hours 10 minutes.
By Train:
At the airport in Perugia you can take the buses that reach the train station in the centre of the city: "Perugia" station, as there are others, like Sant`Anna, closer to the historical centre, is the main one on the city. From here you can take a train to Tuoro sul Trasimeno (35 minutes) or Terontola Cortona, only 2 kms from the inn (40 minutes).
If your plane lands in Fiumicino terminal, take the express railway service that goes from the airport to Termini railway station. Once here, there are trains departing to Terontola Cortona that take between 1 hour and a half and 2 hours, approx. (they may make stops at other stations). |
