Foligno is one of the few towns in Umbria to be located in a plain. Thanks to its geographic position along the Flaminia road Foligno became an important centre of cultural and economic exchanges, since Roman time. Today it preserves a beautiful historic centre with important monuments and works of art. Piazza della Repubblica with the Cathedral and the Trinci Palace is the heart of the town. A thousand-year benedectine abbey is placed among secular trees on the top of a hill at just 4 km from Casa Mancia. The pinkish marble cloister with 128 filigree spiral columns supporting 58 arches is the most spectacular architectural feature of the entire building. Established in 1995, Subasio Natural Parkrepresents one of the favourite places for those loving trekking and discovering charming landscapes in the heart of Valle Umbra Sud. At a short distance from the hotel there is a riding school which offers you the opportunity of having lunch at the top of the mountain after a suggestive ride

Its walls have been decorated by painters like Giotto, Simone Martini, Lorenzetti and Cimabue and represent a masterpiece of medieval picture.
