By Plane/Boat
It is pretty easy to reach Ischia Island by boat: there are various services coming from the coasts of Naples, ferries and hydrofoils sailing from its main port, Molo Beverello, or other ports, Mergellina and Pozzuoli for instance (they all take between 45 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes to reach the island). The airport placed closer to the property is of course the one at Naples, Capodichino, which welcomes flights from all over the world, including main cities in Europe like Amsterdam, Munich and Madrid. This airport is located 15 kilometres from Molo Beverello port.
By Car
If your plane lands in Naples airport and you must reach port Molo Beverello, turn right into Prolungamento Pasquale Borrelli, go along Prima Traversa Via Giovanno Pascoli and veer right into SP193. Afterwards, turn left at Via Casolia 301 and continue along Via Circumvallazione Esterna di Napoli. After passing Casoria, go along Ramo H39 and highway A1/E45 direction "A3/Salerno" and "Napoli". Continue along A3/E45 and get off at the exit for "Porto" and "Centro/ Porto". This journey will take your around 20 minutes.
The main port in Ischia Island is the one at Ischia, but it will be more convenient to catch a ferry to Casamicciola Terme port, placed only 5 kms from the inn. If you arrive there with your car or rent one, leave town and join road SP431, which later changes its name to Via Borbonica. As you approach Forio, you will notice that the track changes its name to Via Baiola, and the hotel stands on number 167 (11 minutes).
By Train
The best way to reach the island if you do not rent a car is to take a taxi at Naples airport, come to Mole Beverello port, and then get on any of the hydrofoils going to the ports of Casamicciola or Ischia. Once in the island you may take a taxi to the property. Anyway, bear in mind too that Carlo Magno Hotel provides a transfer service to and from the railway stations in Rome and Naples, as well as Capodichino airport (for an extra charge); and there is a free shuttle service taking you to San Montano beach or Lacco Ameno. |
