ItalyBy.com made our trip planning so easy. Before we even stepped foot in our hotel, we knew what to expect. We will DEFINITELY use ItalyBy.com on our next visit to Italy. ... Our room was SPECTACULAR! Best view on the shore. The room was very spacious, and the huge patio was a wonderful surprise! Only trouble was in finding the hotel upon arrival in Amalfi. Better in-town directions on the website would be VERY helpful. ... Gennaro was a gracious host. We would recommend Residence Caprice to anyone travelling to Amalfi. ... I cannot believe we paid so little for such a wonderful room. What an amazing value!

We were greeted by the owner with a much needed coffee. He could not do enough to ensure our comfort. Three flights of stairs to reception were a nightmare but the views overshadow this hiccup.Their novel way of carrying luggage was unique ... I would have no hesitation in recommending to reasonably fit colleagues ... Pleasantly surprised to find no additional charge for the extras - coffee on arrival and breakfast. ... Elderly and infirm people should be aware of the 3rd floor location with no lift. ... Wonderful if fit!

I'm not sure ... Again, I'm not sure ... We had a car organised by the hotel. It was extremely convenient and good value. ... We had a fantastic time, the hotel was well situated and comfortable, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would certainly reccomend The Residence Caprice. ... Again, the staff were very helpful and looked after our bags whilst we had a last look round the town. ... Very convenient.

Our balcony was beautiful however our room was extremely small. I was not able to decipher this from the website. I loved the location but would have picked another room had I known the size and dimensions... ... The Il Nido room has a beautiful balcony but the room is very small. ... A beautiful view with a great location in Amalfi.

The man owning the hotel was warm and friendly and the receptionist likewise..the only 'complaint' was that we didnt realise he could haul our suitcases up by pulley until after we'd struggled up the 3 flights with them. ... The rooms were well furnished and the terrace ideal with lovely sea views. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who was capable of climbing the stairs! ... the stairs are steep! (and I am fairly fit!) The views are lovely and it is extremely convenient location.

Very helpful staff - assisted us with hoisting our bags up using a pulley system! we didn't have to carry our suitcases up 3 flights. ... Location was stellar. Loved the view. Room was clean and quiet. ... The Hotel Caprice was a perfect place to stay in Amalfi! It was close to bus and boat transportation, and near to the main square, shops and duomo. The staff did everything possible to make our stay comfortable, and our room had the best view of the harbour from a private deck. Our room had a fridge and just the right amount of storage space. Can't wait to visit again.

it's nice to be able to book online. ... no listings whatsoever for the Abruzzo region... had to look elsewhere to book.
you should probably explain what a 'residence' means in Italy. in general, a user cannot tell whether the place is actually a hotel or just someone's house. Residence Caprice is someone's house with a few rooms... ... it seems like email works just fine ... didn't know about it ... again, this refers back to the comment about what kind of place 'Residence Caprice' is.
the driving instructions are woefully inadequate to describe how to get there. you can't just state the address and the street, especially when it's a B&B or 'Residence'. Residence Caprice does not have a sign on it's door that's easily visible. it's a tiny little address marker (4'x8') that you can only see by being right in front of it. the driving instructions should state to call when you arrive so the person can meet you in the square below the accommodation (the door itself is right on the busy road that follows the Amalfi coast, so you can't really park/stop there accept to quickly unload your baggage). ... there's no elevator, so people with disabilities should stay away.... it's up three big, steep flights of stairs. ... considering the touristy nature of the location, the rate seemed reasonable. Residence Caprice is in an excellent location and only lacks in the fact that there is no lift/elevator for people (there IS a lift for baggage that they use from street level, so that was nice) ... see above for details
- no people elevator - has a baggage lift though - superb location, right on the main square of the town of Amalfi - need to explain the best way to arrive, including better directions and to call first
... nice to be able to book online and get confirmed reservations ... very friendly. classy room. excellent accommodation if you want to visit the Amalfi Coast.

The man at the front desk was very kind and full of smiles and greetings. They do not speak English there, but make it easy to communicate through simple gestures etc. ... The best thing about the stay was the staff they were amazing. At one point, one of the women who worked there chased after us to offer a rain poncho because it was wet outside. We really enjoyed our stay. ... -You should list that they do not speak English. - It seems family run, that would be a good point to add because it adds to the feeling - As most people take the bus to Amalfi, you could mention that it is within a 2 minute walk from the bus stop ... Charming, with great staff and beautiful views of the ocean, harbor and coastline

There were a number of stairs to manage with our luggage which I don't think we knew about. However there was a pully arrangement which was used when we checked out. ... We were asked to change rooms for the last night which, after checking the room, we said was OK - in fact it would have been nice to have that room from the start as it had a private balcony - the other room only had a very small balcony - not enough to sit on. ... Wish we knew about the pully used on check out for our luggage when we checked in. ... If you don't already mention it perhaps the stairs could be included. A lift would be great! ... Lovely, beautiful views, handy to everything. Maria, who worked there, was a delight.

Informative and easy to use site. Details appear to be accurate, you get what you see. ... Visitors should be made aware that temporary parking outside the hotel whilst unloading suitacases etc is difficult as it is a very narrow road and is also very busy being the main throughfare; ie coaches ... Although one double room was very nice and had a lovely en-suite bathroom, the mansard room was not as good as we expected. To clarify this, the bedroom head height was severely restricted, so much so that you could not walk around the bed to get into it and in order to use the dressing table top you had to be on your knees. Also the bathroom headroom was so low that we could not stand up under the shower (which kept falling off the wall) and had to go downstairs to use the shower in the other booked room which was superb. ... That car parking is NOT included in the price of the hotel and the car park is approximately 1/2 mile away. ... Clean, friendly personal service in a hotel located up three steep flighs of stairs which then give a fantastic view over the bay and harbour. Well located for the town facilities and ferries to other locations.

Directions could have been more explicit as to the exact location of the hotel rather than simply how to get to Amalfi. The fact that it was on the main road and (if coming from Positano direction) just after the tunnel into the town is valuable information. ... Generally the apartment was fine but it was poorly decorated. We were told there was a 'small balcony' but this was so small it was only suitable for standing. ... There was no fridge or freezer - even a small one - something we had not expected considering the climate and the cost of the room.
Breakfast was plain and sparce with not even an Espresso on offer. ... Nice location in the heart of Amalfi. Reasonably helpful and friendly staff. Reasonable price.

I arrived at midnight, so it is understandable that nobody was there to greet me. I was able to find my room. ... Public parking is impossible in Amalfi. The Residence Caprice has an arrangement with a garage so that clients pay 16 euros a day. The garage, however, is not conveniently located. ... Only a helper named Maria speaks any English, and her language skills are quite limited. On the other hand, she is very nice and helpful. ... Very nice views from the terrace. All accomodations in Amalfi are expensive, therefore this place offers good value.

three high floors with narrow and high steps without elevator and a heavy suitcase ... We expected a hotel building but found the hotel to be a few rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor; the hotel entrance was on a busy road at the end of a tunnel without a pedestrians walk. When you managed through this and the three floors, the hotel was a nice and somehow charming place to be. ... Both the night before (Hotel Weber in Capri) and after (Hotel Londra & Cargill in Rome) cost less but offered more value. ... The 'three floors without elevator'-story should be mentioned. Being young and healthy one can manage but otherwise guests really may have an issue.
