The name of the property comes from the family who resided here from 1400 until around 1900. The name of this family was 'Castiglione' and like many of the original, traditional families of this region they owned vineyards and produced white wine most importantly the great 'sciachetrà' wine.

The place where the wine used to be produced has now become the breakfast room of the accommodation. In 1998 the building was restructured by the Germano/Raffellini family and was transformed into the 'Locanda'. This project was sponsored by the European regional development council for restoring and maintaining important historical buildings.

Therefore you will see that the rooms are particular as the original structure has been maintained. The Locanda consists of 6 different rooms available to guests. All rooms are elegantly furnished. The Locanda has been recognised by the 'Cinque Terre' National Park for it's quality of service.
