Profile |
The Passeri family was descendant of the Passaro family that were nobles of Spello, during the fourteenth century. Later, Palazzo Bocci passed to the descendants of Pier Leone Bocci from Spello and Cintia Federici from Bevagna, who were married in the first years of the 18th century. |
Members of the Bocci family, like Doctor Pietro Bocci, notary in Foligno and mayor of Spello since 1880, and lawyer Domenico Bocci mayor of Spello until fascism, lived in the palace and took care of the succeeding renovations.
The restorations carried out during the 18th and 19th centuries, enriched its actual aspect while the original paintings of the local artist "Benvenuto Crispoldi" (1886-1923) contributed to a nice finishing touch and those of other masters of this century. The actual owner bought the Palace in 1989 and transformed it into a luxury Hotel after 3 years of renovation. The Hotel Palazzo Bocci opened in September 1992. |
