The transport organised by the Hotel from the airport was approx. 50% more expensive than the price we paid to return to the airport. this was arranged by the agency a short walk from the hotel into the town

Excellent Hotel with beautiful views across the Baay

Driving into Sorrento is confusing, so I am not sure if I can fault your directions. Also, we arrived late and although our standard room was lovely, the view was partially blocked by a tree (the view is the reason we chose that hotel) Luckily the next morning they not only happily switched our room for a better view, but upgraded us to one of the best suites in the hotel at no additional charge. The staff at Hotel Belair is the nicest I have ever come across in Europe.

There is no way to do justice to their views. The fact that the hotel is in front of the road and built into the cliff makes all the difference. One thing I would add is to describe the process of pulling up to the hotel if you arrive by car. The parking 'lot' is on the road, with the hotel directly below, however, the gates are usually locked, and you need to pull over at the first gate (if you are coming from Naples side, it is the second if you are coming from the Positano side) and ring the buzzer. Also, because it is directly on the road, there is not much room to pull over, so you could easlily miss it, and of course, there is not much room on that road to turn around if you do miss the entrance.

very helpful porter, took our bags settled us
in and because we had been there before we
then got brought a lovely bowl of fruit.

We had an odor in our room every evening, the front desk said it was from the sea.
We were also very unhappy with the resturant staff at breakfast. They never once in five days asked us if we needed anything, we were always having to ask for more coffee(three times at each meal)
...
If were didn't have the problem stated above, the value would have been very good.
