Saint Maria of Leuca is one of the best Italian places to practise the diving. Very Beautiful backdrops, caves and wreckages make of every immersion a moment to remember. The hotel l'Approdo has created a specific offer for the lovers of the diving. there is a diving centre inside managed by the DIVING NASE-CMAS, that care also the snorkelling for children. |
 Fishing
In Santa Maria of Leuca different types of fishing of ground can be effected: tunas, sharks, riccione fish, cernie fish, of depth.
Tunas: they are animal of big ransom that, to the entrance of the Adriatic, they move in big flocks; the fishing is unter coast, not over the 3 moles. The most suitable periods go from half of September to the end of October and from half March up to April.
Sharks: the fishing of these animals is far from the coast, over the 20 miles. The varieties are numerous. The most suitable periods are the months of April-October.
Cernie fish of depth: it deals with a very particular fishing that needs a specific equipment, since the animal live around the thousand meters deep. Their fishing is in the sea pits. The most suitable periods have been since May in November.
Ricciole fish: these are animl of meaningful ransom, from the 20 up to the 70 kg, very combative. Their fishing is under coast over the 3 miles. The most suitable periods go from half of September to the end of October and from half of March to April. |
 The Hotel l'Approdo makes available for impassioned ones of this type of fishing up to boats perfectly equippend and conducted by experience sailors able to recommend they will recommend types of Reeds, types of baits, preferred baits (es. glances, needle-fished, tombarelli and sgomberi fish). Every boats is from one to three people. The right number of people is three to optimize the costs and to draw the maximum satisfaction from the games of fishing.
