Further from the centre of Rapallo than expected. It is really in St Michael de Pagana.
Steep climb up drive - not suitable for the unfit! Even cars can struggle near the top.

Quality hotel, 20 minutes walk from Rapallo and St Margareta. Quiet location though some road and rail noise.
Very friendly staff. Good continental breakfast. Didn't use the hotel restaurant in the evening - too many good (slightly cheaper) restaurants in the nearby resorts.
Local bus stops outside the door.

we loved everything the hotel is beautiful. the only thing is it is very white and unless you have the roller shade down on a sunny day it is almost toooo brite but I would stay there again.........what a view.......

Did not have a chance to eat dinner at the hotel as we have family that live just outside the entrance to the hotel but we had breakfast..
very nice-- everything was very clean... that is a plus...

we arrived early and were prepared to leave our luggage and ck in later but rooms were ready for us......nice touch....

the only negative thing is the incline to get up to the hotel--- there should be stairs for anyone elderly.... it is a steep incline
you may want to suggest to the hotel to put in stairs to one side....... positive note the bus stops just in front of the hotel..

perfect location---right inbetween Rapallo and San Margarite....plus the bus stop...
you do have to push the button for the bus to stop but it couldn't be closer....beautiful --- great bathrooms large and clean..excellent and courteous staff

Hotel L'Approdo was one of the best places we stayed whilst travelling for 3 weeks in Italy with a 2 year old all the way from Australia. The location was fantastic, the accommodation was beautiful (clean, great view), had our car park reserved which was very helpful and the staff very, very helpful and friendly. Excellent experience. Highlight the need to reserve a car spot in Hotel's gardens. We did and it was fantastic not having to worry about finding a car park at any time of the day or night.

Awesome, extremely pleasant staff always smiling and prepared to help. Rooms clean and view amazing. Great for couple with young family - very hosptitable, our 2 year old loved it too! Will definately return some day :-) 10/10 One of the best places in Italy - we travelled for 3 weeks and spent 6 days there- wish it was longer. There is so much to do in that region, excellent location between Santa Margharita and Rapallo town's. Short walk or drive to both and Cinque Terre is a short drive too (day trip). We loved it, thank you.

Flight was late and our arrival was therefore very late, receptionist was extremely pleasant and realised how tired we were, our key was handed to us immediately so we could occupy our room.

Beautiful bedroom and terrace on top floor with excellent views. Room was very clean and linen provided was white, fresh and changed daily. Breakfast was rather poor for the quality of hotel. Choice was very limited and no offer of any hot food was available. Dinner at the hotel was mixed. Pasta excellent (home made) but some of the meat was tough and too salty.

Beautiful bedrooms with terraces & lovely views. Hotel is on a hill therefore difficult if you have trouble walking but in a superb position for access to Rapallo and Santa Margareta. Found the choice and quality of some food disapointing

The owner was VERY nice and accomodating. He made a reservation for us at a special restaurant for my husband's birthday. They took great care of us and it was a great night and a lovely hotel.
The only things I would note as less than perfect are the small showers and the breakfast. By the time we got down for breakfast, most of the chilled food (milk, yogurt, etc.) was warm and we were expecting more of a food selection.

Fabulous view, very nice hotel. If someone is sensitive to road noise, there can be quite a lot coming from the road in front of the hotel.

The owner receptioist and hie staff were very helpful and most courtious.
A note for your files the hotel is much closer to the train station in S Margherita (walking distance) then the train station in Rapallo.

In fact it is a easy walk into downtown S. Margherita with its restaurants and the ferry to Portofino

We chose L'Approdo Hotel because of the good recommendations we read on the internet. We can only agree fully!! The view from our fourth floor balcony was superb - in the morning, evening and night. The hotel is extremely well-kept, pleasant, immaculate and we would love to come again - or send our friends and family for a wonderful stay.

Located on the border of Santa Margherita and Rapallo, only a 10 minute walk to downtown Santa Margherita. A very clean and modern hotel, with a fantastic breakfast served daily. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. I can't rate this hotel high enough, one of the best places I have stayed in my travels throughout Europe. A must for anyone who wants the glitz of the Italian Riviera without totally emptying your wallets for a couple nights stay.

This hotel was actually just like the website. How many places have you been to that look like they must have used trick photography for their websites? Well this is the real deal, clean, welcoming, great location, and quaint.

Where can you sit on the patio and order coffee and see lemon trees, olive trees and confederate jasmine blooming by your table? Warm welcoming and clean. We had rooms on the 4th floor and the view was wonderful. Great location because it is centrally located. We stayed only 2 nights and we could have stayed a week without blinking an eye. Highly recommend.

Hotel l'approdo was not initially available for the dates we wanted, so was looking for alternative accomodation in the same area

all of the staff at Hotel l'Approdo were very helpful and friendly, especially Stephano, who was very helpful not just with hotel details, but with suggestions and directions for sightseeing, etc. and had given us the room with the best view.

Although the hotel distance from S. Margherita is accurate, it doesnt suggest it is a steep windy road to walk, with a portion with no footpath. we caught a taxi from train station, but if we had known the bus service stops directly outside the hotel we would have taken this much cheaper option. just a thought if you want to add this info it may be helpful to others in future!

Our stay at the Hotel L'Approdo was very enjoyable. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful in case there were any queries. The rooms were also nice with a beautiful view. In case you need a taxi negotiate your fare. We were charged € 18.50 for 1 kilometer from St. Magerita back to the hotel after 9pm.which seemed outragous

It could be stated that it is situated actually in San Michele di Pagana - a small village closer to Santa Margerita than Rapallo. The hotel`s address an search results in internet are somewhat misleading in this point of view.

Once outside the gates of the Hotel, there is a big problem. There is a two-way road with a non-stop traffic of cars and vespas, all driving at a very high speed, causing not only noise but also a danger to walk along the road or to cross.
There is no traffic light and specially no sidewalk for pedestrians. Once or two, we tried to walk to Santa Margherita centre risking sometimes our lives, as the cars were almost touching us.
We took the bus that cost us 80 centimes each time for a distance we could have walked easily. But even the bus was a problem on our way back, as we had to cross to get in the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is on a turn, so we could not see the approaching cars, just their sound before risking to cross...
Unfortunately, this point is a very bad reference for the hotel and apparently the authorities do not have any intention to improve this situation.
