We loved the Covento di Agghielli. It was our favorite place in all of Italy. The rooms were beautiful and a very good value. We will definitely go back. ... We loved the Covento di Agghielli. We loved the cat Palini - he's like a little happy human. Mariella and Dario made us feel welcome and at home. We can't wait to go back for another visit.

We were warmly welcomed. English was spoken but it was limited. ... We did not stay at the main house but in a building a short walk away from the main house. I don't remember that building listed on the website but it had great views and was very private. The room was very spacious as was the bathroom - also very clean. We were there for 4 nights and the bath towels were never changed. We are accustomed to hotels not changing linens daily due to environmental conservation concerns which we support and the Convento clearly is environmentally-conscious which we applaud. However, most places give you the option of clean towels as needed. We did not ask for clean towels but would have appreciated the option being offered. We arranged to have massage at their spa. It was wonderful - the spa was beautiful and clean but we were not shown it when we arrived and it was kept locked. I am not sure if there was anything in the information book in the room about that as I did not look for that information and other than the massage, was not interested in using it. ... We did not see the owner when checking out. This was handled by the young woman who served breakfast. She spoke very little English so had there been any questions about the bill, we would not have been able to communicate. I did not ask to see the owner (Laurie?) so I do not know if she was onsite. I would have liked to have said goodbye and tell her that we enjoyed our stay. ... The website says that English is spoken at the front desk but it was very limited. Communication occurred but both sides had to refer to Italian-English dictionaries! There was a swimming pool that I don't remember being on the website. I am not sure if it was for guest use. The weather was too cool to ask about it! ... Surrounded by nature's beauty perched high in the mountains with panoramic views. Peaceful - you hear almost no man-made sounds. The offerings at breakfast and dinner were all homemade and wonderful. We came back early from touring on 2 afternoons just to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view, the peace and to relax. And to play with the kittens!

I was disappointed with the accommodation in general. Thought it was a little rough around the edges. Food was average. Not worth the money paid. ... Accommodation is basically in a series of 'outhouses'. ... Not worth the money.

The breakfast was a disappointment. The quality and quantity could be much improved. ... The road leading up to it is a steep, long and narrow track. ... Beautiful, quiet setting, except for early morning gunshots from wild boar hunting. Lovely rooms.
